MISSION OF  THE GALILEE INITIATIVE

A really long time ago, yet not all that long ago (because what is time in light of eternity?), two men heard an invitation that changed their lives.  A stranger who was not really a stranger invited them to, "Come follow me."   The Galilee Initiative uses art as a vessel for people to encounter the same invitation Jesus proposed to the first apostles.  Through original artwork, articles, workshops, and retreats, The Galilee Initiative hopes to spark a renaissance of the arts founded upon the kerygma.

At the crux of the kerygma is Jesus' invitation, "Come follow me."  The miraculous part of the Galilee story in Matthew is not that Jesus invited the apostles.  The miraculous part of the story is that they said yes to His invitation.  To hear Jesus say, "Come follow me," and to respond is the whole epic of life.  How will you respond?
